One of the main tasks of the Ministry of Public Security is to promote and develop the international cooperation and external relations with the corresponding establishments, institutions and organizations abroad, on issues that the ministry is responsible for.
For that purpose, the ministry is constantly striving towards strengthening and furthering the existing international bonds and agreements, and towards creating new international bonds and agreements with states corresponding states and Public Security establishments, according to the policy of the ministry and of the State of Israel.
The ministry operates through its units and authorities, to strengthen and further the Ministry of Public Security's international relations with corresponding ministry around the world, in the fields of Home Land Security and law enforcement.
The Ministry of Public Security conducts work contacts and cooperation with corresponding ministries in such countries as: USA, Canada, South America, and the EU states.
The system of relations between the Ministry of Public Security and additional states has been expanded by signing cooperation agreements and new understanding memorandums.

The Minister of Public Security and the Israel Police are closely cooperating with several Western European and North American states. This cooperation is manifested in 9 of the ministry's and the Israel Police's attaches that are serving as representatives in these countries, acting in favor of furthering and promoting cooperation between the ministries and police forces. At the same time, there are several representatives of foreign states and of corresponding police forces that are residing in Israel and are working in cooperation with the ministry and the Israel Police
